Birmingham Area Panhellenic AssociationEnrichment Award application is now available!

In 1976, the Birmingham Area Panhellenic Association established an Enrichment Award, honoring the memory of dedicated volunteer, Mary Long Alsager, a beloved member of Alpha Gamma Delta, an international women’s fraternity.  In past years, 2 additional awards were added, one honoring the memory of Del Moore (Kappa Kappa Gamma), a former president of Birmingham Area Panhellenic Association, and another established by Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity.

The purpose of these awards is to provide current high school sophomore, junior or senior women with the opportunity to participate in a personal enrichment event related to fine arts (music, art, dance, or drama), journalism, or athletics.  The recipient may use the award, not to exceed $500, to defray program costs, such as enrollment fees, room, or travel.  The award may not be used for college tuition and expenses. This award may not be used to participate in any activity that is required or mandatory to be a member of a team, club, or organization.

A complete explanation of the award rules and requirements is included on the application form.  Applications must be postmarked or emailed by Friday, April 22, 2011.  Winners will be notified in May 2011.  Please email us at birminghampanhel@gmail.com to request an application.
